Got an idea to make your SIG even better? Let’s make it happen.
Each SIG has a $100 budget to support activities, resources, and experiences that benefit the group. Before spending, just fill out this quick form so we can cheer you on (and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes).
Please review our SIG Budget Policy before submitting a request for funds.
- SIGs will be given a budget for the calendar year of $100.
- This is a pilot program beginning in 2026, and the board reserves the right to remove these budgets in future years.
- SIGs have flexibility to spend the money as they choose to, while keeping in mind the mission of RWN and purpose of our SIGs. Expenses should in some way tie back to furthering the mission of RWN and/or the goals of the SIG.
- SIG Leaders must submit a request for approval to spend their budget. Please submit a request for approval at least 10 days before you’d like to use the funds. The VP of SIGs and a member of the Finance Committee will review your request. When a decision has been made, the VP of SIGs will notify you. If you haven’t heard anything after 10 days, please email Melanie Watson.
- SIG leaders will not receive funds upfront. Expenses will be reimbursed by our Treasurer. An expense reimbursement form should be filled out for each expense (or set of expenses if made at the same time). Receipts will be required and should be uploaded as indicated on the form.
- It is the SIG leader’s responsibility to keep records and maintain awareness of how much of their budget is spent. The Treasurer or VP of SIGs should be contacted with questions.
- Purchases need to be approved in advance and must benefit the whole SIG, not just individual members.
- Once a SIG budget has been spent in full, no new funds will be available until January 1 of the following year.
Examples of inappropriate uses of SIG funds might include:
- Purchasing something solely for the SIG leader(s) and not the entire SIG membership
- Donations to other groups, such as local nonprofit organizations
